TITANIC model by Steven Dara

I started building it about two months ago. The lenght is 6 foot and it is made out of 1/4 ingh birch plywood (keel and superstructure) and the hull plates are 1/32 birch plywood.I am in the process of working on the hull plating ..........a very long task.

These pictures of my scratch built Titanic were taken in Nov. 99 through Feb. 2000. In the first picture I have just finished working on "A" deck and the boat deck had just been applied. The following pictures show more detail of the boat deck and the ship as a whole. In the boat deck picture the compass platform and vents can be seen. I am in the process of working on the life boats. I have carved one out of wood and using that as a jig to mold the other 19 boats in modelers clay and plastic filler. After the life boats are done I will be moving to the poop deck to add details there. It has been a long year in the building process but it definitely has been an enjoyable project so far.
