RAFTERS BRACKETS |
This object mounted on the face of the poop deck plating is not a fire hydrant
but a simple canvas awning rafter bracket. These were very similar to the brackets
used in modern day construction for building rafters in a house. A board slipped
into the bracket and was held in place with a pin.
