Completing this model took me about one month. I first thought about setting up lighting inside the hull, but then rejected this idea as it would have been too complicated and time consuming process.
I wanted to paint the model by using an airbrush, but as I don't own such a device I had to be satisfied using just an ordinary brush. Choosing the right colors for paint job was quite challenging event. I wasn't pleased with the color scheme presented by Minicraft, so I collected a pile of pictures from Cameron's Titanic and decided to lay my trust on his good judgement. There was some troubles finding all the right colors and I had to do some compromise solutions eventually.
I was afraid not being able to mix the right color for the funnels, but the result came out just the way I wanted. Although it doesn't seem quite right on these pictures. I have noticed there being same conversation about the right funnel color. To my comprehension all the White Star Line Company's ships had the same "peach-like" funnel color, when rival company Cunnard's ships had red funnels.
Bending the railings was pretty difficult part. If they were not warm enough when bending - they broke, if they were too warm - they melted. Finally I decided to cut the railings to little pieces before glueing them on.
I also run out of thread at the end. Even though the manual said that "there should be plenty" of it. I expected this to happen and desided to use all of thread included in package for funnels, masts, lifeboats and cranes. For aerials I used a lot thinner black sewing cotton, which still seems too thick.
