  About me:

Modelers image

When I was about seven years old, once a week we had our so called library hours at school. Even in those days I had a keen interest in history and transportation. In these library hours we had to pick any book of our choice and write a few lines on why this book was picked and what we learned from it. I got a book about ships off the shelf and in this book was an artists impression of the sinking Titanic. I was hooked! Since then the Titanic never let me go. I remember trotting up to my teacher asking "Mr. Mackenzie, what's this?" The next few lessons were devoted to the Titanic. After leaving school many years later I studied architcture in Cologne. In this time my passion for modelmaking helped me finance my studying as I took on commissions for all sorts of architectural models. After I had completed my studying I worked in an architects-office in Cologne for ten years. Then I felt it was time to do something different. I set up I own modelmaking business conc!
entrating on architectural models. Word spread however about the quality of my ship models and soon I was building more ships than architectural models. In Sept: 2001 I was fortunate enough to be commissioned to build a 1/48th scale model of the Titanic. I am married and have a four year old son.
I never forgot this artists impression I saw in this book at school so long ago. I was stunned when I got "Titanic Voices" and saw this very picture again on page 126.
