The first model based on the 1980 film
Here are a few pictures of the now finished "Raise The Titanic!" replica movie model. The model including its research has taken a total of 12 months from start to finish. I am very pleased with the outcome of this model and its the only model thats exsists of what she looked like in the 1980 film. The model is fitted with Toms Models photo etched parts from railings, deck details, skylights, cargio cranes and much more.
The model is built using photos taken on the set of the movie and screen shots from the film. I am pleased to say that this model, apart from the actual model built for the film, is the only one of its kind showing the ship as she was for the film. The model sits on a base that resembles the Atlantic seafloor, with the remains of the broken stack sitting near to the stern. It will be on display at the Titanic At Home exhibition that will be in Belfast during April 2003.
