Bryant's Ghosts of the Abyss Wreck Model Added on 11/1/2003 |
This wreck model
was based on James Cameron's recent 2001 expedition in filming the documentary
Ghosts of the Abyss. I haven't actually seen the film, but based on observations
from historians and the recent report by Ken Marschall (Check it out at www.marconigraph.com)
and from the book "Ghosts of the Abyss: A Journey into the Heart of Titanic"
I managed to model the recent deterioration changes occurred to her since the
1985 discovery.
As noted in the report and book, the screen promenade
deck screens have rusted out and the gym's roof has totally collapsed with end
of the boat deck fallen into A-deck. No doubt further collapses will occur. So
why did I decided to model the wreck this way? Probably because I was curious
to learn about the recent collapses to the changing appearance of Titanic. Another
reason is because Cameron was the first person to actually film most of the interior
of the vessel so I decided to model it because of that great technologically triumph.
Hopefully more expeditions will occur with the same in mind. Thanks to everyone
who have helped me with the model, it is still a work in progress. I still need
finish the seabed but am unsure what material to use. Hopefully when the seabed
is finished, I will post some more later updates.
