Orland, Florida: 'TITANIC- THE EXHIBITION'

Update added July 8th, 2002

A lot has happened since the last update. The funnels have been built using the plank-on-frame system. #1 funnel has received its plating and rivets of sheet styrene (this is why it is currently the highest funnel!). For the first time we could what the model looks like with all funnels in place.
The "Utley's" brass windows of the forward part of the promenade deck are now completed. Each window consists of 11 pieces; 50 windows were made, i.e. 550 pieces - more parts than the whole Entex kit! At first we planned not to include any interior detail but some of the windows are so big that we decided to add rooms with very large windows, such as the private promenades, verandah-cafes and the cafe parisienne. A master has been made for the bench-seat ends and these items are now being cast. Both of the welldecks, the poop- and f'c'sle deck are fully planked and varnished. They are quite some sight!
