Hi, my name is John Caiati. I'm making a scratchbuilt 1:87 Titanic model. I'm building it for my son whose a big Titanic fanatic! Also i'm a serious fan and have movies and books about the ship. Books and pictures influenced me to start construction on it. Now i'm non-stop and constantly doing something on the model. Up late almost every night cutting pins to make rivets on the side of the hull. So far i've cut 32,401 pins and hammered them into its side. It's length is close to 10 feet and its weight is about 74lbs.
