Jeff Bentley's 1:350 Titanic |
Hi my name is Jeff Bentley i'm 20 years old and i have been building model cars since i was about 10 years old. Then just recently i started to get interested in model ships. I have been researching the Titanic for over 10 years now as a side hobby and decided to start building the 1/350 Titanic Deluxe edition. Construction started in Nov. 2005 and i hope to have it done in Feb. 2006. It is a challenge but it keeps you out of trouble. As you will see in these first set of photos, i stained the decks in Golden Oak useing a stain marker i got at wal-mart. I have also done alot of research on the rivit counter tutoral, and i found it to be very informative. I tried to get this ship to look as historially acurate as i can. Also, i have started building rooms to, such as the bridge, grand staircase, gymnasium. You will also see benches and deck chairs i got from Gold Medal Models, they add a great look to the ship.Titanics builder Thomas Andrews ounce said " It takes three million rivets and alot of sweet to build a fine ship". This is true, Titanic is apart of our history and this model is my tribute in keeping the legacy of titanic alive. (pictures of the finished model to be added soon).
